Number Bond Champions

Children in Key Stage 1 take place in the number bond champion challenge.

Quick recall of number bonds is a big advantage to children's mathematical knowledge and understanding. 

Children start the programme by working on bonds to 5 and then once they have mastered these in the times below, they progress to bonds to 10 and then 20.

 

Qualifying Times for the Number Bond Champions

5 Challenge (Addition) – 6/6 in less than 25 seconds

5 Challenge (Subtraction) – 6/6 in less than 25 seconds

10 Challenge (Addition) – 11/11 in less than 45 seconds

10 Challenge (Subtraction) – 11/11 in less than 45 seconds

20 Challenge (Addition) – 21/21 in less than 1 minute 30 seconds

20 Challenge (Subtraction) – 21/21 in less than 1 minute 30 seconds
