Computing
Computing Intent
When children leave Ss. Peter & Paul, they will be confident computer users with the fundamental tools needed to succeed in computing both in terms of their further education and their individual futures in the wider world. Computing skills are not only essential tools in the modern workplace, their absence would be extremely detrimental to any child’s prospects in future employment, not to mention their everyday life. A high-quality computing education gives pupils the ability and the confidence to adapt to the computing skills of the future, whatever they may be. They will be able to use the skills they have learnt to understand and ultimately to influence the world.
Pupils will be equipped to use information technology to create programs, systems and content. Computing also ensures that pupils are able to use, express themselves and develop their ideas through information technology. They must understand both the strengths and the dangers of information technology in a modern, connected world.
