Our Intent Statement for Art and Design
At Ss Peter & Paul, the intent for art and design is for all children to experience an engaging and inspiring curriculum which will develop the knowledge and skills to attempt art and design activities with confidence, creativity and imagination. They will develop key skills and techniques and learn to analyse and evaluate their work. They will gain an understanding and respect for the work of a range of artists and designers, local and global, as well as historical and modern. This knowledge will develop children's cultural capital and enable them to form lifelong learning skills allowing children to appreciate art and design in the future.
